meltzer tower
what to expect in the coming months
We are eager to begin these next steps and look forward to cultivating trust and forging an authentic partnership with both you and the broader Meltzer Tower resident body, as we work together to improve Meltzer Tower.
Regular Resident Meetings
We will be working with NYCHA to coordinate regular meetings with residents in the coming months and meetings details will be shared in advance. An introductory meeting with tenants will be scheduled shortly.
building studies
We are planning in-unit inspections with our architect and contractors and will need your assistance to access your apartment. We will also be performing necessary inspections in common areas, maintenance areas, and exteriors of the building. We will provide as much notice as possible and want to be respectful of your time. You will see members of our team around the building often in the coming months. We will circulate notices that will include information of how you identify members of our team through their specific ID badges.
social services plan
We will be coordinating with NYCHA to identify additional, on-site social service provider(s) to better serve the residents of Meltzer Tower. We will work collaboratively with residents to select social services partners, programming areas of focus, and the development of a set of metrics to gauge the success of the services and continue to monitor and adjust as needed to meet the changing needs of residents.
Workforce Development Initiative
As part of this project, the Meltzer Tower PACT Partner team is focused on training and hiring as many Meltzer Tower Residents as possible. To this end, we will host employment training opportunities for residents who can then interview for construction and management jobs with our team. More information on these opportunities will be shared over the coming months.
introduction to housing opportunities unlimited (hoU)
HOU will serve as a resident liaison to help deliver resident wants and needs to the development team throughout the PACT process. They will conduct household and resident programming assessments, ensure there is consistent communication and collaboration with residents, and coordinate logistics and support residents through the construction process.
